After 10 years+ DJing other people’s weddings and hearing about all of the planning joys, I finally got to participate in my OWN engagement shoot!

I had to talk my wedding photographers, Every Moment Photo, out of retirement to shoot my wedding; therefore, I didn’t want to press my luck and ask for them to shoot my engagement photos as well. Bryan and Melody Valiant from Amore Studios are good friends of mine as well who shoot the annual Jenkins Halloween party that I DJ every year, so they were an easy choice for the engagement shoot. Bryan offered to go with Hayley and I for a destination engagement shoot to San Diego, CA!

I have been watching Bryan and Melody’s portfolio grow over the years, and I am amazed each and every time I check out their blog at the quality and creativity of the images. Hayley and I knew a few places where we wanted to shoot, so we thought it would be a lot of fun. Anyone who knows me can tell you that I am not shy, especially when it comes to striking a pose, and Bryan was ready at all times for what Hayley and I had to offer.

In fact, Bryan spent the whole weekend scouting additional spots for unique shots and accompanying us to dinner, the clubs, the beach, old town, and everywhere in-between in order to ensure every opportunity for an awesome photo was maximized. Bryan is a machine! Many times when I DJ events, some photographers cannot wait to leave after the traditional dances are done, where Brian totally exudes passion for photos, he only leaves when you kick him out!

Overall, I was blown away by Bryan’s  creativity, his tireless effort to create the right shots and moments, and most of all, his off-the-wall personality always made us laugh. My favorite “Bryan moment:” we were at the Hard Rock Hotel and Brian asks this uber-posh couple to hold a couple of his spotlights on us while he dialed in the perfect shot…they looked so puzzled, but were glad to oblige!

Brides and Grooms to be should seriously consider Amore Studios for there photo requirements.
